Wake up

To preseve Wales beyond the next 100 years requires us to wake up as a nation and to wake up the nations round us or all is lost.

I agree! But really, our nation today would have been beyond the imagination of our forefathers, 100 years , or even 50 years ago!

My father died 15 years ago lamenting the loss of the Chapels. (And he was at best agnostic!) According to him, they were the at the centre of welsh life. The soul. Not just the Welsh language ones, but the English ones as well! He thought all was lost! He was wrong!

I would like to know what Cymru will be like in 100 years, but whatever imagine will be far from the actuality! We have to believe in our young people, modern communications (like this forum!) and the sheer doggedness of the Cymric character! We have made it so far, and have the resilience to make it all the way!

We know this already, but to wake up a Welsh identity it would help if the English were given a "shove" as well since if the English became very nationalistic, then so would the rest of the UK peoples in answer to this.
